Thai Massage Training Course - Intensive
An 8-hour intensive training course in the
healing art of Nuad Phaen Boran (Thai Massage)
Saturday 18th & Sunday 19th June, 10am - 2 pm
Thai Massage is an ancient healing technique, which uses compression as a means to release muscular, nervous and energetic tension. It is practiced on the floor in full clothing. The masseuse uses his/her body weight in order to help release tension and work the Zen Energy Lines. It has been likened to a fusion between reflexology, acupressure and assisted yoga stretching.
Instructor: Natalie Heller - Thai Masseuse, Pilates and Yoga Instructor
Cost: €80 full course (2 days)/€45 for one day
Day one will be training in self-massage.
Day two will be training in how to give massage.
Please note that if you cannot make the full course, you can join for one day.

Course Objectives
- To train the participants in how to give Thai Massage both to themselves and to others at a basic level.
- To provide the basic tools for healing through Thai Massage.
- To increase knowledge of the body’s muscular, skeletal and energetic anatomy.
Course Outline
The intensive course includes training in:
- How to apply pressure by using thumbs, palms, forearms and knees.
- How to develop an awareness of one’s own body while giving massage in order to prevent one’s own tightness.
- How to use one’s own weight as a tool for muscular compression.
- Information on the location of the 10 Major Zen Energy Lines (Thai equivalent to Chinese Meridians).
- Information on which parts of the body to work (muscular and energetic) to alleviate specific pains.
- A 7-step face massage sequence known to delay signs of aging.
- A 20 minute full-body self massage routine.
- A 30 minute full-body massage routine.
Day 1: Self-Massage Training
Students will be introduced to the various techniques of applying pressure to their own body in order to release muscular tension. Each student will be provided with a personalised self-massage routine specifically designed to alleviate his or her individual pains and/or health problems. For this they must complete the personal health profile before commencing the training. The course will also include a 7-step routine for facial massage which helps delay the signs of aging.
Day 2: Training in Giving Massage
Students will be trained in how to apply pressure and how to use their body weight when giving a Thai Massage. They will be taught a 30-minute full body massage routine targeted at alleviating muscular tension in the legs, arms, lower back, back of the neck and between the shoulder blades. The routine will also be focused on techniques for alleviating migraines, preventing indigestion and releasing energetic blockages.
