Hypnosis is an altered state of conscious awareness. Hypnotherapy or else clinical hypnosis is a form of psychotherapy which uses hypnosis as the core of the treatment. It is a natural and empowering method for making positive changes in one's life.
During a hypnotherapy session, you are guided into a trance, an altered state between a waking and a sleeping state, through a relaxing process similar to guided imagery. Within a trance, the hypnotherapist and you can uncover the core of an issue, discover inner resources, and make suggestions - to transform psychological, emotional, physiological and chemical aspects of yourself
In the hypnotic trance a doorway is opened between the conscious and unconscious levels of being. This not only allows you to access your own inner resources, it also increases your responsiveness to suggestion in order to create the positive changes in your life
The hypnotic state is always characterised by a pleasant state of relaxation, in which you allow yourself to enter by the hypnotherapist's guidance or by self-hypnosis - and the awakening from it leaves you with a deep lasting feeling of wellbeing

Michaela is a registered clinical hypnotherapist - psychotherapist. She gained her Diploma in Hypnotherapy (DHYP) at the London College of Clinical Hypnosis, where she trained extensively on Classical and Ericksonian Hypnotherapy, NLP, CBHT, Goal-Directed and Regression therapy. She is a member of the British Society of Clinical Hypnosis (MBSCH) for the last 10 years and adheres to its professional Code of Conduct, and an affiliate member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (AMBACP), both ensuring professionalism and ethical standards. She also holds an Hons degree in Psychology, (BSc Hons) among other qualifications, and she is a graduate member of the British Psychological Society (MBPsS)
